Adding your Accountant as a User to QuickBooks Online
So, how do I add my accountant as a user on my QuickBooks Online file? It is relatively easy to do this. One of my customer's had a problem. Her CPA never received the invite to view her QuickBooks Online file. The CPA's firewall blocked it as spam. We tried sending it to his personal gmail account and voila! There it was. As a bonus, I have included what I do for all of my customers. I create year-end reports and a special grouping of them. These are what most CPA's need when you finalize the year. Here is the procedure I follow, not just at year-end but monthly, to be sure that the records are in order:
- Reconcile all appropriate accounts like banking, credit card, loans, mortgages, prepaid accounts, security deposit accounts, etc.
- Run Profit and Loss Detail Report and review transactions for accuracy.
- Run Balance Sheet report and make sure nothing seems out of order
