Electronically Filing W2’s and W3’s
Did you know there is a website to electronically file your W2’s and W3’s?
It is on the www.socialsecurity.gov site and it is called Business Services Online Suite.
You have to sign up for the service and they will provide you with a special user name and then you create the password. It is important to save the user name because SSA provides you with a unique user name. I find it a much easier way to process my W2’s and W3’s than using the pre-printed forms. One of the benefits is it is free (just your time to type in the information, the first year is more time consuming to enter the data, but if the employee’s stay the same, you can copy over the prior year’s information and update as necessary). You reconcile your entry and submit it to the government. You then can print out the forms and your confirmation page.
