Is Email Safe? Client communication for the future

A quiet space....

Would it be wonderful to go back in time? To go back to when email was just a communication tool. And you didn’t get all the advertisements, The spam, etc.

I stumbled upon this quiet space. It’s called Liscio. It’s the tool I’m going to use with my clients for communication, file sharing, and much much more.

So how is it a quiet space? Well, there won’t be any spam here. This product has military-grade security and secure file sharing, messaging & storage all in one invite-only mobile platform.

The story…

Me: "Hey… I see you hired a new Employee. Can you use the link under my signature line that connects to the secure portal and upload the documents necessary to have me enter the new employee into payroll?"

Them… "Sure! Here is my W-2 a copy of my check and my new hire form a copy of my driver's license and all of the pertinent records necessary to steal my entire identity!"

OK, OK, so I embellished the ending. However, you get my point. The scenario happened to me a few times this tax season. It’s incredible that people don’t realize that sending those documents via regular email is just not a good idea.

And even though it’s just a couple of steps to click on my signature line to upload the documents, I think people just don’t read through the email. So what was my resolution? Liscio

About Liscio and the video....

Liscio allows me to exclusively communicate with my customers securely. Once they form the habit, there will be no chance of them exposing sensitive data. The program is beautiful to work in. Simple for the client. Sharing files is a breeze. The app is so easy to use. I’ll dive into that in the future post.

In the video below, I discuss with my colleague, Sarah Prevost, best practices for using Liscio. She is an accountant who has the mirror image business on the West Coast as my East Coast business. We have collaborated on a few client accounts. Sarah is the person who introduced me to Liscio (I am grateful!). She did a custom demo with me to show me the features. She also shares how she on-boards a new client and how she gets her customers to stay in product and stay safe. Enjoy!
