We will discover everything needed and the steps to navigate your new program. Special thanks to Cheryl Grindell for this amazing pdf!

In the first two weeks of this series, we explored signing up for QuickBooks Online Accountant and last week we explored some of the features in the program. This week we discover some of the free things included in your subscription.  Again, a special thank you to Matthew Fulton of Parkway Business Solutions for joining me in the fun of becoming a newbie again!

Did you know that Intuit provides free training? The first training is pretty extensive and includes a broad overview of the entire program.  The training provides some best practices and approaches for how to work through the Intuit ecosystem.

Here are the links to access part one or part two of the series.

Getting Started with QuickBooks:  ProAdvisor tab.....

As we dive into the training in ProAdvisor tab, we take a peek at the Point and Tier system and how to start to build points for your practice. The higher your points, the higher your status is with Intuit, the better the support us and the better the benefits get. How do you get to the higher tiers? Add clients. Take the tests. Get certified.

Below you will see the points history box. It shows when you add a customer, lost a customer, how you obtained the points, all the details.

Getting started with Quickbooks:  The Intuit training....

Matthew and I go through the training course and give you some great tips on passing this test. Both of us are advanced certified and we have taken many of these tests.

The first tip is don’t try to tackle the test and training all at one sitting. It’s a big test. Matthew and his business partner, Mike, dedicated one hour a day to studying. I highly recommend this tip! Don’t start at the end of the day either. Schedule a specific time in the early part of the day, when your mind is fresh.

Screenshot your answers. This saved me on an advanced recertification test. I screenshot everything. I passed it, got the congratulations screen, etc. And then the web page hung. 24 hours later it was still not showing a certified. One quick call to the support team and I shared the pictures and they corrected the problem. The other bonus of taking a screenshot of your answers is when you get a question wrong, seeing that wrong answer and re-studying will definitely help.

Believe me, this methodical approach to the test will bring you nothing but success. The testing is hard on purpose. Once you’re certified is that you above other people in the next step for you would be to take the advanced certification. We cannot stress how important it is to take that test. It will list you near the top or at the top of the page of the search engine. More leads for your business! Plus, you will gain knowledge. That is the most important piece.

Last piece of advice: Take advantage of everything that is included here....

There is so much in the ProAdvisor program.   Take advantage of everything given to you.  All the content, the training, the perks.
